I believe in (B)YOU
The world does not need another app.

The world does not need another app. It needs more humanity.
That is why I keep building BYOU!
There are still too many people waiting too long, paying too much, and being seen only in parts.
That is why I still believe BYOU is needed.
And I do not say that lightly.
There are still huge waiting lists in the Netherlands. Mental health support in the US is still incredibly expensive, the UK is overwhelmed by the demand of need, and too many systems still treat people in parts instead of seeing the whole human being.
That is not a small gap.
That is a real need.
And that is exactly why I still believe in BYOU.
Because BYOU was never meant to solve just one part of a person. It was built around the belief that your whole wellbeing deserves to be seen.
There was a moment when I knew BYOU was no longer just an idea.
It was when we started receiving applications from holistic coaches. From people who, just like me, wanted to make an impact in the world. People who wanted to leave the world a little more beautiful for the next generation.
It meant the belief was not living in me alone anymore.
Others saw it too.
And maybe that is something I want to say to you too: not everything meaningful begins with proof. Sometimes it begins with belief. Sometimes belief comes long before the proof does. That does not make it less real. It just means you may have to be the one who sees it first.
If I am honest, that belief did not start with BYOU.
It has been in me my whole life.
My mother and my sisters always used to say that I was someone who wanted to help people who were struggling. And they were right.
When I left for Africa for six months of volunteer work in Ghana, I wanted to make life better for people there. I wanted to give something from my heart without needing anything in return.
My most expensive asset has always been my time and energy.
I helped street girls through S.Aid in Accra, an incredible organization!
Later, I became a child therapist and family mediator. And even when I had my own practice, I was still thinking about how to help the families who could not afford my services.
I could not lower my prices, but I could find another way.
So I started a makeup brand and used that money to help support families and later reinvest into building the BYOU app.
Sometimes the things we are meant to build do not come out of nowhere. They follow us through our whole life in different forms until we finally have the courage to name them.
That is what BYOU feels like to me. Not a random company idea. A continuation of something that has always lived in me, and what I saw in the market only made that belief stronger.
I saw people waiting too long for help.
I saw support becoming too expensive.
I saw systems that were fragmented.
I saw that people needed access not only in crisis, but in everyday life too.
That is also why I believe BYOU can mean so much to someone in the exact moment they need it most.
The moment they wake up in the middle of the night, their thoughts are racing, when they feel like they are losing grip…
What if, at that exact moment, they could speak to a professional who is available on the other side of the world?
Because while professionals may be closed in one country, someone else somewhere else may still be available.
And no, I do not believe AI is the answer to everything. AI is a powerful tool!
But human insight matters, human presence matters so much more nowadays, where someone really cares and listen to you.
We still need people to help people.
And I also want to say this clearly:
The professionals behind this work are not just service providers to me. They are carriers of insight, care, and real change in people’s lives. The right human support at the right moment can change the direction of someone’s life. I have seen that too many times not to believe it!
And because BYOU has such a strong name, I believe deeply in the power of what it stands for: Being You.
Coming back to yourself.
Without the wall.
Without the mask.
Without pretending.
The pure version of YOU!
That is the deeper power behind BYOU.
And honestly, that is why I keep going.
Because how selfish would it be for me to stop, while someone out there might need BYOU so badly right now?
How selfish would it be to stop while someone is praying for something like BYOU. For a better life. For support. For a wellbeing practice that can help their clients. For a place where they finally feel seen.
Even after the amount of pain and pressure I have had thrown at me, even after a year in which some people would have preferred to see BYOU go bankrupt, I will not stop for the people who need it.
Even if this season of my life is still not ideal. Even if I am still building toward my own home. Even if I still need an office. Even if some things are still taking shape.
Giving up is not something I do.
Yes, there was a moment when I even had BYOU up for sale. I spoke with beautiful people. And for a second, there was a version of the future where BYOU would no longer really be BYOU.
But the people around me helped me see clearly.
And some of those same people are now part of the force behind BYOU.
You know who you are.
So now, as we build again toward the future, I see BYOU becoming more than a platform.
I see it becoming a community of people who believe in themselves and stand for who they are. People who take care of who they are. People who dare to speak up for what they stand for.
I see BYOU becoming the kind of community that feels like the coolest club to belong to, while still keeping heart at the center.
A place where everyone is welcome. No matter where you come from. No matter what your story is.
And maybe that is the deeper lesson in all of this: Believing in your vision also means believing in yourself enough to carry it before the world fully understands it.
So if there is something in you that keeps returning, a vision, a calling, a deep inner knowing, do not dismiss it too quickly just because the proof is not fully there yet.
A hard season does not always mean you are on the wrong path. Sometimes it means the vision is asking you to become stronger, clearer, and more ready for what it carries.
Your vision does not become less real because other people cannot fully see it yet. Sometimes the first person who must believe in it is you.
I am building BYOU because I believe the future still needs more humanity.
